Using her tools
Zola stayed for the whole parade
Marching bands are, objectively, extremely loud. Last year Zola made it about two streets before it all became too much.
This year she brought the orange headphones, stood a little further back from the curb than everyone else, and watched the entire thing — floats, drums, the fire engine with the siren, all of it.
At the end she took the headphones off and said the drums were her favorite part.
Nothing about her changed. She just had what she needed.
Try it this week: Bring the tool before it's needed, not after. It changes the whole day.
